Volunteers are the foundation and heart of Chattanooga Room in the Inn. Many vital functions are provided by volunteers including meal preparation, activities for children, fundraising committees, special projects, and life skills instruction. Additionally, volunteers help maintain the facility and grounds, and provide assistance with office duties.
Child Advocate Volunteer

Child Advocates actively engage in Children's Enrichment activities, fostering healing and joy through thoughtfully designed, playful experiences that promote child development. These activities include games, storytelling, skill-building exercises, and movement, providing a secure and nurturing space for children to flourish and explore.
Thrift Store Volunteer

Thrift Store Volunteers help support CRITI by assisting with donations, organizing merchandise, and serving customers. This role directly contributes to raising funds that support women and children experiencing homelessness, while creating a welcoming and positive shopping experience for the community.
Intern at CRITI

Our internship program plays a vital role in our mission offering passionate individuals a chance to gain hands-on experience while directly contributing to meaningful, life-changing work.
Maintenance / Groundskeeper

Every facility has ongoing maintenance and groundskeeping needs. Ours is no different. If you are skilled with tools, construction, repair, upkeep, or landscaping, this is the role for you!
Front Desk / Admin Volunteer

Front Desk Volunteers are instrumental in maintaining the smooth operation of Chattanooga Room in the Inn by overseeing facility access, greeting visitors, and answering phones. Effective communication and flexibility in task execution further contribute to the overall functionality of the organization, ensuring a positive experience for all visitors and contributors.
CRITI Ambassador

CRITI Ambassadors represent Chattanooga Room in the Inn at community events, fairs, and expos. Volunteers in this role engage with the public, share information about our mission, and promote our thrift store. Ambassadors help raise awareness, build community connections, and inspire others to get involved in supporting women and children experiencing homelessness.
Meal Provider

Residents receive a meal every evening provided by Meal Providers, affording food stability to residents. Meals may be catered or prepared at home and should be delivered to the shelter no later than 5:00pm after getting put on the schedule.
Life Skills Instructors

Providing life-skills education, our instructors teach classes on budgeting, credit counseling, personal hygiene, parenting skills, nutrition, and anger management. Sign up today if you teach a skill that could be useful to our residents.
