VOLUNTEER AT CRITI
Volunteers are the foundation and heart of Chattanooga Room in the Inn. Many vital functions are provided by volunteers including meal preparation, activities for children, fundraising committees, special projects, and life skills instruction. Additionally, volunteers help maintain the facility and grounds, and provide assistance with office duties.

These professionals volunteer their time to help direct and support our mission! They work on the goals and strategies that were developed in our Strategic Plan.
Life Skills Instructor
Providing educational help in the area of life skills, our instructors teach classes on credit counseling, personal hygiene, parenting skills, nutrition, and anger management. Classes take place twice a month for one hour of instruction.
Thrift Store Volunteer
We are excited to announce plans for a future thrift store! Once we have a location, volunteers can start almost immediately. Until then, you can be on our mailing list to receive updates and learn what will be needed and when.
Special Events
Chattanooga Room in the Inn hosts various fundraising events throughout the year. Each event has a committee that handles certain areas of the event such as Publicity and Promotions, Sponsorship, Decorations, etc. The committees consist of volunteers in the community who would like to volunteer on a short-term basis.
Meal Providers
The residents at Chattanooga Room in the Inn are provided with a free
meal every evening. Meal Providers are encouraged to deliver the

meals may be purchased/prepared at home or from a restaurant and
are served buffet style at the shelter. Meal Providers have the option to
stay and eat with the residents as well.

Child Advocate
Child Advocates provide supervision for a diverse group of children, spanning from newborns to 17 years old. Child Advocates actively engage in Children's Enrichment activities, fostering healing and joy through playful experiences that are thoughtfully designed to promote child development. These activities encompass a range of endeavors such as games, storytelling, skill-building exercises, and movement, providing a secure and nurturing space for children to flourish and explore. Regular communication between Child Advocates and Child Advocate volunteers is maintained to evaluate the effectiveness of activities, ensuring that children not only have fun but also learn in a secure and organized environment. Child Advocates are needed on Mondays, from 6:30 to 8:00, to contribute to this meaningful initiative together.
